Consortium comprised of SEDC and Hidroprojektas has completed a feasibility study and technical project for the Neris river development in Vilnius city. It was presented to the mayor of Vilnius and it's executive team today. The purpose of the project was to identify necessary preconditions for tourism related service development on river Neris in Vilnius. 16 km of the river can be used for this purpose.

 

However river has to be deepened, cleaned and adjacent infrastructure, including piers, enbankments and ports, has to be either modernised or built anew. At least 65 mln Litas (less than 20 mill. EUR) are needed in order to complete all of the planned works.
